Townhouse Guildford is a nail salon that has received mixed reviews from its clients. On one hand, some customers praise the cleanliness of the salon and the expertise of the staff. For instance, Zoe Evans appreciated the calm atmosphere and noted how attentive the staff were while making her nails and feet feel brand new. She found it easy to relax and was pleased with the help she received in choosing a beautiful nail color.

Similarly, Rachel Boyes had a positive experience with her technician Chay, who was very helpful to her, a novice when it comes to nails. Rachel also mentioned that her mother had a great experience with Kara, who provided valuable advice and assistance in choosing colors. Both customers left the salon feeling satisfied and expressed that they would return.

However, not all experiences have been positive. Elle Clarke shared a troubling account, stating that she and her friend faced significant delays and poor customer service on the day of the friend’s wedding. They were unhappy with the lack of flexibility regarding the services available, and Elle described the staff as somewhat rude. To make matters worse, she reported that her friend left with cuticles and toes injured, which overshadowed their entire visit.

Flo’s review echoes this sentiment of inconsistency. Initially pleased with her gel nails, she later encountered problems during subsequent visits. While she appreciated the application in her first few visits, she noted that recent experiences featured uneven filing and varnish application, leading her to reconsider returning.

Eliza provided a particularly critical perspective, stating that her experience was the worst and most expensive manicure she had in the UK. She noted sore cuticles and chipped nails shortly after her treatment, despite being offered a second appointment to address the issues.

In summary, Townhouse Guildford showcases an array of customer experiences. While some clients enjoy the meticulous service and calming environment, others have faced serious concerns related to customer service, treatment quality, and overall experience. Prospective clients may need to weigh these reviews carefully before making an appointment.

  1. Beautifully clean salon, staff very efficient and took so much time over making my nails and feet feel brand new. Nice switch off calm environment. Helped me choose a beautiful colour too. I would happily recommend Lauren or Sonali as they knew what they were doing and I felt relaxed.

  2. Had Chay she was lovely very helpful to a complete nail newbie. Thank you for putting up with my horrible cuticles. Will defiently be coming back and love love love the colour. My mother also had Kara who looked after her so well and helped her with colour choice and advise on looking after her newly polished nails she loves them.

  3. Awful experience. Zero stars. Me and my friend booked in for gel manicure & pedicure before her wedding day. You can only book online and can’t call through to the salon to ask any questions. We arrived on time and we were seen to about 15 minutes late. My friend (the bride) requested a french manicure for hands & feet and they said that she couldn’t have it as you had to pre-book it online even though there isn’t an option to select it online. We said that it was her wedding in 2 days and that she really wanted it but both Kara and Lauren said it wasn’t an option as they had really strict time windows to stick to (even though they started on us 15 mins late) I said I wouldn’t have mine done to allow for them to have enough time to focus on the bride to be but they still said no in a very rude manner. She was allowed chrome finish which takes just as long as french manicure so it made zero sense and the customer service and flexibility was shocking especially as it was my friends wedding. I got up to get myself a drink from the fridge as we were not offered a drink and you don’t have the option to have a glass of bubbles as advertised. The energy in the salon is just awkward and everyone is a bit rude so it wasn’t an enjoyable experience. It took an hour to take off my friends normal gel varnish and the manicurist cut all her cuticles and toes in the process. Her hands and toes were bleeding after and are still healing a week later. There are minimal colour options to chose from and it’s hard to chose from the flat colour images online as you want to see it in person. My nails have all chipped after 1 week which is shocking considering it was £102 and it took 2.5 hours. I definitely won’t be returning or recommending this place to anyone.

  4. ** EDIT** Just wow. I’ve been getting my gel nails done at a salon down the road and they have been chipping after a few days, I thought it was just my job (working a lot with my hands) but these gel nails have lasted in PERFECT condition, photo is 8 days in..
I had Gaia who was lovely and super friendly, I did notice that when you first walk in it’s not so friendly, no one to greet you, very quiet atmosphere, and a few people walked in and back out whilst I was waiting.
Overall will definitely go back as this is the best manicure I’ve ever had.

**Since this post I have returned about 4 more times, unfortunately the application has gone downhill since this.
My last visit I had 3 nails not properly filed & varnish didn’t reach the edge of my nails. – but to be fair they have not chipped.
I overlooked the lack of character, colour choices and politics of how it’s run (you have to book EXACTLY what you want when booking – there is no chance to change your mind on the day) because the actual application was amazing but with the last few visits outcome I will not be returning.**
1st pic is 8 days in, last 3 are taken on the day of application.

  5. Most expensive yet worst manicure I’ve had in the UK. Customer service based off site are fantastic. Overall a very impersonal experience, took 1 hour 20 mins for simple gel manicure which left me with sore cuticles and chipped nails (see pictures). Customer service allowed me a second appointment to fix and service again was average.
