Royal Exeter Nails in Exeter has received mixed reviews from its customers, but many of the experiences shared lean towards the negative side. A few clients have expressed satisfaction with their services, but a significant number have reported serious issues.
One customer, Isabella Wilson, praised the salon for accommodating her when other places turned her away. However, her positive experience seems to be in stark contrast to the accounts of other patrons. Megan Mitchell’s review highlights a particularly distressing visit. She described her experience as the worst she’s ever had at a nail salon, noting that four different people worked on her nails due to the chaotic environment. She reported significant pain during her appointment and was left with a mishap that resulted in injury and a lack of accountability from the staff when she returned seeking a resolution.
Similarly, Sennen Fowle mentioned that the acrylics she received were applied too thickly, leading to burning sensations and discomfort. This disappointment was compounded by the high cost of the service, especially since they were meant to be festive birthday nails. Aimee Courtier echoed these sentiments, stating that she endured a painful process and ultimately lost several natural nails shortly after her visit.
There was at least one positive review among the criticisms; Nia Gallez-Hawkins had a good initial experience getting a full set of nails but was disappointed when she returned for removal, finding that her nails were left in poor condition.
Overall, the reviews suggest that while some clients may find satisfaction with their services at Royal Exeter Nails, the concerns raised about rushed and rough treatments, high prices, and inadequate customer service may deter others. Potential customers should be cautious and consider the mixed feedback before making an appointment.
I never am one to complain but I have never had such a poor experience and this is honestly the worst nail salon I have ever been too. Four people ended up doing my nails because service was so bad, rushed because they were so busy. Lump of acrylic under my nail, and so thick. When they drill they also do it too rough and really hurts/burns your fingers. I left the shop unhappy but had to rush for a train back to London which is my mistake. I only returned to the shop requesting a refund when my nail snapped off and I realised the tip had been stuck to the skin above my nail because my nails were too short and they didn’t tell me. So the skin all above my finger nail ripped off and would only have happened if the tip was stuck to the skin. When I returned the staff told me it was my fault not theirs and ‘I have 10 fingers and only have this issue on one finger’. They were so rude and told me not to come back. The worst part is the nails cost me £43 pound!!! Will never return and do not recommend this to anyone. Disgusting.
After 3 places had refused me due to not wanting to do the nails Royal Exeter nails did them for me and did them so well!!
usually i love this shop when i come home from uni but this time i went in to get a full set of acrylics with nails art and the lady applied the acrylic way too thick which ended up in my nail beds burning and i had to take them off when i got home because i was in so much pain. i was also charged an extortionate amount. really upset as these were my birthday nails.
I was lucky enough to have long natural nails but only because I have always had BIAB, as normal gel polish doesn’t last on my nails. Anyway my usual nail tech couldn’t fit me in so I came here as it was convenient to walk in. As soon as I sat down I was given a basket of nail colours, I asked the tech is this definitely the BIAB colours which she agreed they were. All very rushed. It was a painful process with the hot drills burning my skin around the nails. So even just that experience would have put me off going again.
My nails did look beautiful when I left, but did feel quite flimsy/bending rather than hard. They only lasted 3 days before I could see spilts in the nails quite low down, after 8 days I have lost 8 of my long natural nails. I’m devastated and can’t quite see how this place receives so many good reviews? Absolute waste of money and will have to wait months before my nails grow again.
Went in and got full set of nails done, very good but went back 2 weeks later to get them taken off and once they were finished with the service, I had been left with acrylic still on my nail and my nail plate was so thin. Definitely do not recommend going there to get acrylics removed.
