Leicester Nail Bar, located at 25 Church Gate in Leicester, seems to be a place with mixed reviews, leaning more towards the negative side based on several customer experiences. One user, Pea V, shared a particularly troubling account about her mother’s visit. The service was described as rude, with staff dismissing her mum’s requests and causing her physical discomfort during the nail treatment. Additionally, nails began to chip just days after the appointment, leading them to seek a refund. Their experience with the manager was frustrating as he refused the request, resulting in a stressful and upsetting situation for her mother.

Another customer, Jessica Rocks, expressed dissatisfaction with the service as well. She noted significant delays even with a booking and felt rushed during her appointment. Furthermore, she experienced problems with her nails shortly after leaving, losing two nails within a week of her visit, which made her feel that the service wasn’t worth the cost.

On the other hand, some customers did have positive experiences. For instance, Anita Taylor praised the staff and expressed her enjoyment of getting her nails done there. Similarly, Abi shared that she consistently receives amazing service and is loyal to the salon.

However, concerns regarding hygiene were also highlighted. One reviewer mentioned a lack of disinfectants and poor sanitation practices, which is alarming for any salon environment.

In conclusion, while Leicester Nail Bar has a few satisfied customers, the negative experiences shared by many highlight concerning issues such as poor service, hygiene practices, and subpar nail quality. Potential customers might want to consider these factors before choosing to visit. With numerous nail salons available in the area, it may be wise to explore other options for a better experience.

  1. The service received and the way they have treated my mum is beyond disgusting.

My mum had her nails done on Thursday 28th December, during this time she was spoken to very rudely, she showed a picture of what she wanted to have done, she was told not to do the colours she had picked, my mum had asked for a line of glitter which they did not do, and then refused to add. The lady pressed into my mums nail bed to remove the shellac spillage so hard that she let out a little scream with how much it hurt and had to ask the lady to stop because of the pain. The lady then told her if she picks it in the shower it will come off.

By Sunday 31st December, 4 nails had chipped. As she doesn’t have a car she couldn’t get back to get them fixed until Thursday 4th January (yesterday). By today (5th January) the same nail that was fixed yesterday, chipped again.

By this point my mum had decided she didn’t want to keep getting them fixed as the quality was clearly poor, so wanted her money back so she could just get them done elsewhere. I went in with her and explained our situation and what we would like the solution to be, we were fobbed off by the lady working there, told to take a seat and the manager would be back in half an hour. Although this wasn’t ideal, to save my mum the repeated hassle, we waited. After 30 minutes, a member of staff handed us her phone with the manager on the line. Again, I explained our situation and our desired solution, to which he responded with shouting at me down the phone telling me he is the manager and he is not allowed to give a refund after 7 days, I tried to explain that the nail we had fixed only yesterday had once again chipped so this was not 7 days, only 1, on top of the 3 that had chipped prior to this. He cut me off, asked to give the phone back to his staff, who then told me he is coming in 5 minutes. 10 minutes later he arrived, walked in whilst me and my mum were sat down, grabbed my mums hands saying ‘show me your nails’, and tried to usher to the chair to fix it. Once again, I explained we do not want it fixed again, just our money or even part of the money back. By this point, the lady member of staff as well as the manager towered over us whilst we sat, shouted my mum telling her that ‘she was doing too much work with her hands’, ‘she didn’t look after her nails properly’, ‘she could have ripped them off herself for her money back’ ‘and people lie’. When I tried to tell her that this isn’t her first time getting shellac done, she had been doing it for years, she stopped me by pointed her finger in my face and telling she is talking to my mum and not me. So my mum had to repeat the exact same thing I said. The manager shouted at us telling he will not give us a refund, it’s our own fault, it’s been over a week etc.

This was all very upsetting for my mum as she is not confrontational so I stood up for her as much as I could and in the end we agreed to accept a refund of half of what we had paid. This is not the ideal outcome we wanted with how horrible her experience was, but to save further argument and upset we cut our losses and left as quick as we could.

With how many other nail salons there are in the area that offer a much better service, I would highly recommend to go anywhere but here. In all of the years me and my mum have been getting our nails done, this was by far the worst experience. This will be the last time we choose a salon because it is not busy, clearly it wasn’t busy for a reason and our lesson is learnt.

  2. Booked using online booking system for 4pm walked in and said I had booked and got told to sit down and wait (so no point having booking system at all) got seen to at 4:30 people were okay but seemed in a rush got quoted £40 for some design over acrylic with no polish but seemed to have been over charged when other people were paying more towards the £30 range for hand painted letters additional to nail polish and acrylic. Design was completed on my nails but very rushed however i got them done on Thursday 21st and by the 24th one nail had already popped off and ripping my nail underneath gave benefit of the doubt thought maybe was just one that hadn’t sat well … nope it’s now the 28th and another has popped off meaning in a week having them I have lost two nails which has never happened to me before and is now a waste of the £40 I paid wouldn’t go again

  3. Brilliant wonderful staff love having my nails done here 😀
    Thank you 😊

  4. The hygiene of the bar is very poor no disinfectants used , the files are used on every customer no in between disinfecting sprays whatsoever . They left powder on my fingers and my hand looks like it is exfoliating . This is happening all the time and it is infuriating . Will definitely not come back because of poor hygiene . Nails last long and are done very well.

  5. I’ll let the pictures do most of the talking, but what I will say is this. Always amazing work, staff are very friendly and do a fantastic job. I won’t go anywhere else to get my nails done.
